 My Favorite City

I have a favorite city that, in my opinion, is ideal for citizens to have a nice, peaceful, and balanced living. It is Amsterdam, the city is in the Netherlands. Amsterdam has clean and fresh weather, and it barely has air pollution. The city also has many options for public transportation that are easy to reach, integrated with one another, and the most important is most people use bicycles for daily life there. Their roads are also pedestrian-friendly. Amsterdam has many amusing places to visit, such as some contemporary museums, several old classic museums, and canals in the center of the town that we can enjoy on a small canoe. Not only historical and legendary buildings to enjoy, but Amsterdam also has some beautiful-famous nature gardens since they have their specialty in tulip flowers. Dutch people also have some festivals that they regularly or annually celebrate, for example, the Queen’s Day celebration. They not only love to hold a celebration party, but also love to work efficiently. Dutch people prioritize a strong work-life balance. So, that is why some studies stated that children who are raised and grow in the Netherlands become the happiest children in the world. The ambiance of the neighborhood there also seems safe, sincere, assertive, and united in diversity. Another important thing to consider is the ease of getting food. Indonesian people can easily find Asian, especially Indonesian food there. Regarding to variety of food, Amsterdam has it all, especially for their varieties of cheese and dairy products. I personally love some of their signature dishes, called bitterballen, stroopwaffel, and poffertjes. I love everything about the Netherlands, especially Amsterdam. I hope I’m blessed with a chance to live there with my family while I’m studying for my career in the future.
